The story of the Chinese tiger was told N times and finally printed on the T-shirt

Cleverly written on the front:

In the face of the torrent of society and the times, we are fortunate to have the opportunity to express.

But some people, some species, don’t, and it’s a pity to look back.

In the same sealed time, we put the story of the Chinese tiger and the designer honey pomelo whale into a T-shirt, in order not to forget, reflect and future.

Peace be upon you all.

Mobile wallpaper see the end of the article, spring is still there.

When the weather says it’s hot, it’s hot, and the T-shirt should hit the shelves.

This year is the Year of the Tiger, and T-shirts are naturally tiger-themed. But this subject is actually a bit cheesy, as a cultural symbol, the image of the tiger appears on clothes not low at all – usually grinning teeth and dancing claws, occasionally a few cute cats.

That’s not what we want to do.

Planet Leopard’s products tell the story of species. China is the country with the most tiger subspecies (

Even now

), do many people know about this situation? Probably no.

Old knowledge review: Of the 9 tiger subspecies in the world, 5 once lived in China: the Caspian tiger (Xinjiang tiger), the Siberian tiger, the South China tiger, the Indochinese tiger and the Bengal tiger. At present, three subspecies of the Javan tiger, Caspian tiger and Bali tiger have been declared extinct ©WWF

Declining tiger

From the birth to prosperity of Chinese civilization, the tiger species has always been with it. In addition to those prehistoric eras, the image of the tiger has survived in the historical years that archaeological remains can trace.

For example, the mussel dragon and tiger pattern that appeared in the more famous Yangshao cultural site is about 6,000 years old, which is basically the earliest tiger image that appeared in cultural records.

The location of this tomb is in present-day Puyang County, Henan, which belongs to the Yellow River basin and is roughly in the North China Plain.

This account roughly says a few things:

First, there were tigers in this place back then, and geographically speaking, South China tigers should be distributed here.

Although Puyang is located in the North China Plain, there are no leopards today, but 6,000 years ago it should have belonged to the wilderness where tigers and elk roamed.

Second, Puyang is north of the Yellow River. Chinese civilization basically originated in the Yellow River basin and then extended to the Yangtze River basin. These watersheds are also apparently preferred habitats for water-dwelling tigers. And the rise of human civilization also represents the fall of the Tiger Dynasty.

Since then, various images of tigers have continued to appear.

About 4,000 years ago, the site of Shiji in Shenmu County, Shaanxi Province (

It belongs to the Yongsan culture

The tiger-shaped sculptures that appear in are already very realistic and exquisite: the tiger hangs its head, its mouth is wide open, its upper and lower fangs are exposed, its limbs are prone and its tail is rolled up, and the body and tail of the tiger are carved with patterns.

Shenmu is close to Ordos, the climate is relatively cold and arid, and no one would think that there would be tigers here. However, sculptures from these sites suggest that tigers were also present at that time. What kind of tiger is it? Probably the Siberian tiger.

Note that this is also part of the Yellow River Basin, and Shenmu is just west of the Yellow River. The descendants of Yanhuang, the Yellow River, and the tiger have actually always had lingering cross-links.

In the Bronze Age, the image of the tiger is more concrete.

In 1985, a four-tiger copper plutonium from the Western Zhou Dynasty was unearthed in Shaoyang City, Hunan Province, with protruding bird patterns on the front and back of the bell body as ridges, and two tigers on each side, with the tiger’s head downward, the limbs slightly curled, and the tail rolled up.

There is no need to talk about this place in Shaoyang, Hunan Province. In the past, Hunan was the whole South China tiger’s nest.

After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, since 1952, more than 1,000 tiger hunting teams have been established in various parts of Hunan. According to incomplete statistics, Hunan hunted 647 South China tigers in 10 years.

On November 6, 1986, a South China tiger cub in Anren County, Hunan Province, was captured by Tie Zheng. He died 15 days later due to his injuries. This may be the last reliable record of wild South China tigers being spotted.

Since then, various tiger cultural symbols have emerged one after another, such as tiger talismans used in military affairs, tigers at the mouth of tombs, white tigers in sacrifices… They represent courage or power.

The tiger accompanied Chinese civilization for a long time, and its distribution retreated from the plains spread over several major river basins to the mountains, and finally with the arrival of industrial civilization, the tiger disappeared in most of China’s territory.

From the 1950s to the 1960s of the last century, the Xinjiang tiger completely disappeared from China;

In the 1980s and 1990s, China lost wild South China tigers;

In the first decade of the 21st century, we lost the last wild Indochinese tiger;

Today, we only have about 50 Siberian tigers and single-digit Bengal tigers roaming the northeast and southwest border strips.

Even for Siberian tigers, conservation is still a long way ©from 0x010C

China’s “big worm”

So today we want to let more people know about Chinese tigers:

China once had 5 tiger subspecies, which is the country with the most tiger subspecies in the world;

China has an endemic subspecies of tigers: the South China tiger, only today we have lost their wild population;

The crisis of tiger survival is far from over, and if we do not step up protection, then we will lose all wild tigers.

The Leopard Planet product team conceived these contents and then told them to designer Honey Whale. So our talented designers used their imagination to make several visual solutions in different styles:

Finally, we named the series after the ancient names of tigers in Chinese history:

Big worm

The ancients used “worm” to refer to all animals, and divided insects into five categories: birds as feathered worms, beasts as caterpillars, turtles as beetles, fish as scale worms, and man-made insects. Tigers are caterpillars and are the king of beasts.

“Big worm” means the leader of the caterpillars, the king of the beasts.

And the word big bug is also very domineering, very Chinese, that’s it!

Each of the two colors, which in turn is selected from several colors, ensures that most people’s color preferences are met.

Year of the Tiger limited edition T-shirt

Of course, as a piece of clothing, Planet Leopard has also upgraded its own design.

In the past, we have achieved relatively high requirements for ourselves in terms of fabrics and sewing processes. So how can we continue to improve this year?

One of the main words this year is: comfortable.

We choose the fabric of the Cyro compact spinning process, which has high strength, tight structure, good wear resistance and less hair

T-shirts are considered to be more casual clothes for everyday life, so good, we continue to break through in comfort this year.

T-shirts are used

100% Xinjiang cotton

, everyone unanimously feels loose, skin-friendly, breathable, and very comfortable

We didn’t continue to use the slimmer fit of the past, but used a looser shoulder slump model.

This fit is more casual and free, natural and neutral, thin wear a little oversize feeling, fat will not feel tight, T-shirt, should make people feel comfortable and relaxed.

Especially this year, under the raging epidemic, everyone needs to relax more.

After the sample came, I let the girls and boys of the cat league wear it and become a model.

This time the T-shirt is complete from color to size, S-XXXL, no matter what your body is, it must fit.

Reference size: Maomeng AI: XXL size/180, 95kg; Big cat: L size / 170, 73kg; Qiaoqiao: M size / 163, 58kg (L size worn photogenic); Xinyue: S size / 165, 50kg.

The detailed size chart can be viewed on the product detail page.

AI is a relatively strong young man, he wears XL when he takes pictures, a little small, but it looks okay, he may wear XXL looser.

And the female colleagues of the cat league I think can better reflect the taste of this T-shirt. Qiaoqiao, Yiqing, Xiaocui, and Xinyue are all cross-border girls who can go out and sit in the office, and of course, we also invited the royal model monthly donor Yafei and her baby: Yaya.

After all, our annual T-shirts have parent-child models (

There are a total of four models, each parent-child model has a black and white two-color choice, which is the effect of wanting to rua dolls after watching it

The little doll looks good no matter how you wear it!

We selected a wasteland by the Chaobai River to shoot the exterior: this waterside wasteland is also a place that we felt was more in line with the temperament of the tiger’s wild environment.

We hope that these girls who care about the wilderness (

There are also two supporting male characters

I can show you what the Leopard Planet Bugs series T-shirt wants to tell you:

Protect the last wilderness of China, and the last tiger in the wilderness.

The tiger’s yellow undertones and black stripes indicate that they may have originated in a reedy tall grass environment

We also hope to see a family of three, four or five people brushing the tiger and tiger together; )

Boss Leopard still has something to say:

This time I put out a lot of designs, hoping to tell the story of the tiger well, and let everyone choose their dream tiger as much as possible. But in order to be a little better for the planet, we also want to change the way we sell this year: after everyone places an order, we produce on demand, and ship it uniformly once a week (

It will arrive 5-10 days after placing the order~

)。 In this way, there will be no overstock, causing waste, and I hope that this small change can bring a small contribution to our small planet; )

Finally, we all have to cheer for spring. Best wishes.

What a beautiful spring! ©Scarlett.
